ABOUT SEW IN TIME
With combined experience in the world of costume, of more than 18 years, our award winning team is able to assist in all manner of garment and sewing projects.
Sew In Time is primarily myself (Kerry) and my good friend and fellow costumier, Helen. both having gained a BA (Hons) Degree in Costume & Performance Design. I also have a great network of graduate friends and professional contacts to call upon for large productions. My husband, David, is a big part of my business. He helps with everything from website to modelling costume (not always with a smile!)
I am a mum to my now 26 year old boy, Connor, and also to my 2 gorgeous dogs Romeo who sadly passed in March and his brother Oberon.
Formally known as BSP Wardrobe Hire, I sadly had to close our Theatre Costume Hire Company and Haberdashery due to lack of footfall through the haberdashery and partly due to my medical situation and needing to reduce my working hours - 7 days a week , early til late was just too much whilst juggling several chronic conditions and I struggled having no quality family time.
I now have a workshop in my home and undertake fittings in my conservatory or at client's home.
My sewing hours are normally Monday - Friday 10am -3pm , although can be contacted outside those hours and , if essential for a deadline I can extend my sewing hours.
I supply a large range of products and supplies for all sewing based crafts and disciplines in bulk format that can be comparable to wholesale prices.. ie full reels of ribbons, elastics etc. Please pop me an email or facebook message and I can quote on whatever you need, from fabrics to machine needles, threads etc.
I design and make all types of costume for stage & screen or private & commercial events.
I specialise in costumes from the medieval to 1920's eras and in particular design and make historical based bridal wear and costumes for LARPers in addition to theatre & film
I also undertake all alterations and custom tailoring and dress-making.
Last year we were excited to introduce a new line in our work, The Creative Wizard@Roll Initiative. Due to my inner geek and to support our family hobby, we now make and supply a range of TTRPG accessories and official DnD items
I am a creative in many subjects and enjoy painting, digital art, sculpting and much more so also now have expanded our products for sale range to include a large number of items and gifts for all occasions from our own artwork and can custom design and edit our existing designs with any personalisation you would like..
Originally based in Bournemouth for years, we have more recently moved to Hamworthy in Poole, but still cover all of the UK.
Even custom costume commissions can be undertaken , even if you are too far for a face to face fitting.
